Miss World Namibia, Selma Kamanya, made history by securing a spot in the Top Eight at the 72nd Miss World event held in Hyderabad, the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Telangana.
The prestigious title, contested by 107 other hopefuls, was awarded to Miss Thailand, Suchata Chuangsri.
The Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts, and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, has called on Namibians to rally behind Miss World Namibia, Selma Kamanya, as she prepares to represent the country in the 72nd Miss World pageant in India on Saturday.
Namibia's representative at the 72nd Miss World pageant, Selma Kamanya, departed for India today, where she will participate in the event taking place on the 31st of May in Hyderabad.
