The community of Kamupupu Village in the Kavango West Region held a moment of prayer honouring the lives that were lost at Kamupupu Village during the period of the liberation struggle.

Vice President Lucia Witbooi has urged Namibians to stand united against all forms of divisiveness and preserve the peace for which the fallen heroes gave their lives.

She made these remarks at the Cassinga Commemoration held in Gibeon at the Swapo Party Office on Monday.

The Provincial Heroes' Day celebration for Zimbabwe’s fallen heroes was commemorated together with Mashonaland West Province of which a commemoration ceremony was held at the provincial heroes acre in Chinhoyi town.

Over 100 liberation struggle veterans attended the commemoration of Cassinga Day at Okongo in the Ohangwena Region.
