The Minister of Urban and Rural Development (MURD), James Sankwasa, says the swearing-in of three local authorities councillors of A Right to Shelter Foundation of Namibia on Monday was unprocedural and against set laws guiding the process.
The Gobabis deputy mayor and a member of the Right to Shelter Foundation, Dina Fillemon, have refused to vacate the office after the foundation issued her with a notice of suspension and expulsion earlier this month.
The Right to Shelter foundation of Namibia has withdrawn the town's Deputy Mayor, Dina Filemon, from her position.
The foundation has also reinforced her expulsion, emphasising that Filemon is no longer authorised to represent the foundation in any capacity.
The leader of the Right to Shelter Foundation of Namibia has promised to improve service delivery, boost the economy, upgrade key infrastructure, and practice good governance once it is elected to power at the Gobabis Town Council.
