The company management initiated the lock-out on 24 July.

Following a deadlock in salary and wage negotiations, the Namibia Local Authority Union (NLAU) has declined Tsumeb Municipality’s 4% across-the-board offer.
Employees of Furnmart and Home Corp Namibia on Tuesday today handed over a formal petition to management.
They have been in a wage dispute that has been deadlocked since August last year.
The strike by nearly 1,000 workers at Namib Mills has ended after 59 days, following an agreement between the company and the Namibian Revolutionary Transport and Manufacturing Union (NARETU).
Namib Mills has defended its wage offer to striking employees. The company said the proposal remains available beyond the 31 January 2026 deadline. Industrial action at the company is ongoing.
