The strike by nearly 1,000 workers at Namib Mills has ended after 59 days, following an agreement between the company and the Namibian Revolutionary Transport and Manufacturing Union (NARETU).

Workers in Windhoek, Otavi and Walvis Bay had been on strike since December 2025 and went nearly two months without pay under a “no work, no pay” policy.

NARETU secretary-general Peterson Kambinda said workers will receive their bonuses on Friday and back pay as agreed. Workers were visibly happy and relieved after the deal was signed, bringing the nationwide industrial action to an end.
