Human rights activist Uhuru Dempers has appealed for calm and restraint ahead of the planned anti-foreign protest in South Africa.

Dempers made the appeal in an interview with NBC News.

The executives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform (MAFWLR) conducted a visit to the Oshikoto regional leadership as part of ongoing engagements to address water scarcity challenges affecting communities in that region.

The Ministry of Education says its utilities' cost-saving measures are progressing well, with pilot programmes already producing significant financial savings.

Social commentator Sam Kauapirura believes more still needs to be done to incorporate genocide studies into the national school curriculum.

Kauapirura was speaking in an interview with NBC's Namibia Connects programme ahead of Genocide Remembrance Day.

Former Member of Parliament and historian Usutuaije Maamberua has praised the Namibian government for hosting regional events to commemorate the Ovaherero and Nama genocide.

However, he is also calling for the renaming of the Independence Memorial Museum in Windhoek to the 1904-1908 Genocide Museum.
