The Hossiana Lutheran Parish in Windhoek joined Christians worldwide on Thursday, 25 December, to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

The Municipality of Walvis Bay has reiterated that the use of fireworks within the town is prohibited unless prior authorisation has been obtained from the relevant authorities.

Christmas cheer has taken over Independence Beach in Walvis Bay, where families and friends are spending the day by the ocean.

The beach was buzzing with music, food and holiday spirits as its residents celebrated Christmas.

Traffic is slow at the Kapfsarm roadblock enroute to Hosea Kutako International Airport as motorists head north and to other destinations for the festive season.

Holidaymakers are leaving the city to reach their destinations in time for Christmas Eve celebrations with family and loved ones.

The Okapuka roadblock has seen heavy traffic, keeping law enforcement officials on high alert.
