President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has arrived in Moscow, Russia, joining other African leaders and Russian counterparts for the Russia-Africa Summit.

As the third summit takes place from 28 to 29 October, the focus is expected to return to how these commitments can translate into tangible economic benefits for the continent.

Since the first Russia-Africa Summit in 2019, discussions between Russia and African leaders have evolved from building economic ties and joint projects to addressing debt pressures, food security and the need for stronger industrial development.

The third summit comes at a time when Namibia is doubling efforts to advance its economic development through strengthened trade, investment and continental cooperation.

The head of state will participate in the gathering, where Namibia is seeking mineral beneficiation and  industrialisation gains.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah is also expected to engage on opportunities to mobilise investment, expand trade and strengthen cooperation in key sectors, including energy, agriculture, food security and technology.

The summit also provides a platform for African countries to engage on broader economic challenges, including debt sustainability, financing for development and the need for a more equitable international financial system.

Namibia is also strengthening international partnerships that support national development priorities and contribute to Africa's broader economic transformation.
