The Namibian government has announced the expansion of communal land in three regions to address grazing pressure and support livelihoods.

A former drug addict turned advocate is sharing her experiences with drug addiction in an effort to discourage drug abuse among the youth at Walvis Bay, Erongo Region.

Erongo Region's Waldfrieden Primary School on the outskirts of Omaruru town has received a donation of N$100,000 to upgrade the school.

The money was donated by Walvis Bay-based businessman Johnny Doeseb and family.

Erongo Governor Neville Andre commended the Bank of Namibia for leading the Namibian Financial Sector Transformation Strategy (NFSTS), recognising the financial sector’s vital role in national development.

Erongo Region Governor Neville Andre has called for a collective effort from all relevant stakeholders to improve the quality of education for learners. 

In an interview with nbc News at Swakopmund, Andre stressed the importance of a united approach to address the challenges in the education system.

The recent attacks on elderly residents in the coastal towns of Henties Bay and Swakopmund have raised significant concerns about the safety of senior citizens in the Erongo Region. 

Authorities in the Erongo Region have expressed satisfaction with the good behaviour demonstrated by both tourists and locals throughout the holiday season. 

The festive season's effects on the coastal towns of Swakopmund, Henties Bay, and Walvis Bay, where holidaymakers had flocked for the festive season, are wearing off as many begin their journey back to their destinations.

Erongo Governor Neville Andre and Swakopmund Mayor Blasius Goraseb have expressed satisfaction with the positive impact of visitors in the region.

They say the influx of tourists significantly boosted the local tourism sector and the overall economy. 

In his New Year message to the inhabitants of the Erongo Region, Governor Neville Andre expressed hope for a prosperous 2025 and has encouraged unity, peace, and continued progress within the region.
