Government to Rehabilitate Duineveld Boreholes

The Namibian government will soon rehabilitate eight boreholes at Duineveld Settlement in the Hardap Region.

The Director of Water Supply and Sanitation, Dr. Elijah Ngurare, says the community of Duineveld is supplied with water from a borehole that is situated on private land.

All vacant positions at Daweb Secondary Maltahohe now been filled

All vacant positions at Daweb Senior Secondary school at Maltahohe in the Hardap Region have now been filled.

The school has not had teachers for Mathematics Grade 9 and Physical Science Grade 8 for the year 2022. 

Teachers still remain reluctant to apply for teaching posts at rural schools.

Hardap Veld Fires Contained

The raging veld fires in the Hardap Region that destroyed large tracts of grazing land have finally been contained.

The fire started on resettlement farm Haribes and spread to other farms over the course of five days.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Hardap Farmers Battle Raging Veld Fires

Farmers in the Hardap Region have been battling a veld fire that broke out at the Haribes resettlement farm on Monday.

Both Hardap Governor Salomon April and Hardap Region Council Chairperson Gershon Dausab were at the scene of the fire to help put it out.
