Agriculture Ministry allocates N$34 million for rain-fed Agronomic Programmes

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform has allocated over N$34 million to the implementation of its Rain-Fed Agronomic Programmes for the 2025/26 financial year.

It's part of efforts to enhance food security along cereal value chains and to create resilience to climate change.

Small-scale farmers from the Kavango East Region who attended a solar water pump infrastructure training describe the experience as informative and eye-opening.

FMD-Free Zone allows cooked dried meat

The movement of dried meat of cloven-hoofed animals such as cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and certain wild animals is now allowed into the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) free zone without a veterinary permit, provided that all portions of the meat are cooked and free of blood.
