Nandi-Ndaitwah urges UNAM to introduce faculty of agriculture at Rundu Campus

Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has urged the University of Namibia (UNAM) to introduce a faculty of agriculture at the Rudu Campus.

Speaking at the UNAM Rundu Campus graduation ceremony, the Vice President said such a move would spur development in the country.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah noted that both Kavango East and West are known as agricultural regions, both in crop farming and animal husbandry.

Debt Struggles: UNAM students blocked from obtaining qualification certificates,transcripts

Potential graduates from the University of Namibia (UNAM) who are in arrears are currently unable to obtain their qualification certificates or academic transcripts.

This has caused concern among many students who are scheduled to graduate next month, as they worry about the impact of their university debt on their future prospects.

Previously, Unam allowed potential graduates to access their qualification certificates and academic transcripts even if they were in arrears, provided that they cleared their debt before receiving their official documents.

Police Inspector General urges cadet constables to embrace professionalism

Police Inspector General Joseph Shikongo has urged 818 cadet constables who are undergoing training at the Ruben Danger Ashipala Training Centre to be professional when they are deployed to various stations.

The cadets will graduate on May 3rd.

Emphasising the values of professionalism and selflessness, Lieutenant General Shikongo called upon the cadets to serve all Namibians and foreigners impartially, transcending ethnic and political boundaries.

Visually impaired women graduate as massage therapists

Four visually impaired women have graduated from Debmarine's Standing with Women and Girls training programme.
 
Debmarine sponsored the training of visually impaired women through the Nomad African Spa to become massage therapists.

The programme upskills the participants to become massage therapists in sports and physiotherapy, among other areas.

The women are empowered with essential skills and opportunities to excel in their professional lives.

Swapo Party School holds second intake graduation

127 graduate at National Youth Service

Deputy Prime Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appealed to financial institutions to lower their loan requirements for start-up capital and collateral for technical skills graduates to set up businesses.
 
Ndaitwah's views were shared on her behalf by Sports, Youth, and National Services Deputy Minister Emma Kantema-Goamas during the 5th National Youth Service Skills Graduation at the Riefontien Youth Training Centre in the Otjozondjupa Region.

College of the Arts graduates

83 College of the Arts (COTA) students in Windhoek graduated from various fields, such as television production, visual arts, new media design, radio production, sound technology, fashion design, as well as graphic design.

The guest speaker at the event, Dr. David Namwandi, who is the founder of the International University of Management (IUM), announced that two students from the college will be offered employment at the IUM campuses.

The gesture is aimed at giving back to the community and providing opportunities for graduates.

Over 300 students graduate at NAMCOL

Graduation is not an end in itself, but a new beginning in self-challenge.

This was the message at the Namibian College of Open Learning's (NAMCOL) graduation ceremony, where 330 students reaped the fruits of their hard work.

Students received certificates, diplomas, and degrees in sign language interpretation, local government studies, early childhood development studies, pre-primary education, and entrepreneurship.

WVTC trainees graduate

420 trainees graduated at the Windhoek Vocational Training Centre (WVTC) in Windhoek today (Friday).

Of the graduates, 36% are female and 64% are male.

The Deputy Executive Director in the Ministry of Higher Education, Technology, and Innovation, Raimo Naanda, appreciated the positive increase in the number of females taking up technical and vocational education and training courses.

The graduates were urged to work towards becoming self-employed, as this will reduce youth unemployment in the country.

International Training College Lingua students graduate

The International Training College-Lingua continues to reinvent itself to offer quality education.

Hundreds of students graduated in different fields at a colourful ceremony held at the Windhoek Country Club.

The college started 22 years ago in a one-bedroom apartment, offering language training and basic computer skills.

The training college was among the first Namibian institutions to receive accreditation from the Namibia Qualifications Authority.
