Agriculture sectors contribution to GDP shows consistent growth

There is a revival in the agriculture sector, and its contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP) has picked up and is showing consistent growth.

There are, however, some challenges remaining in the agricultural sector, namely the pricing of food owing to geopolitics.

Agriculture Ministry prepares draft resettlement criteria

Small-scale farmers who, in the future, would want to be resettled could be required to have resource ownership or access capital to the value of at least N$200,000 per year.

They must, however, relinquish any agricultural land rights they may hold elsewhere in the country.

Production continues at Etunda Green Scheme Irrigation Project

The Agriculture, Water and Land Reform Ministry has denied claims that there is no production taking place at the Etunda Green Scheme Irrigation Project in the Omusati Region.

The farm manager, Sacky Shilyomunhu, says there has been no work halted at the project and its business as usual.
