Mauritania’s candidate, Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, has been elected as President of the African Development Bank, taking over from Akinwumi Adesina.

The 3rd Junior National Council session commenced today.

Officially opening the session, Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah urged the young MPs to engage passionately in their discussions, emphasising that their contributions would shape the future of the country.

President Nangolo Mbumba has reassured the diplomatic community of Namibia's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and partnerships, continuing the legacy of the late President Hage Geingob. 

President Hage Geingob says today Africans, including those in the Diaspora, are to celebrate the achievements of the African Union as an enduring continental body.

Namibia has welcomed and endorsed the Peace and Security Report, presented during the 36th ordinary session of the AU Assembly.

President Hage Geingob has urged African youth to actively participate in the continental Agenda 2063 developmental aspirations.

Dr Geingob virtually addressed youth delegates at the Youth Connekt Africa summit underway in the Rwandan capital of Kigali.

Africa cannot realise its Agenda 2063 and SDGs if the issues of water sanitation and security are not addressed.
