The Oshikango -Santa Clara Border Post will now operate 24/7 following the launch on Friday.

This follows an agreement between the Namibia and Angola governments.

The 24/7 operation will allow the movement of people of the two countries at any time.

Thirteen Namibians with Level 3 qualifications in welding, fitting, and turning will be trained in vital oil and gas vocational skills in Angola.

With the help of this programme, Namibians will be better equipped to progress the country's rapidly growing oil and gas industry.

Namibia's Ambassador to Angola, Patrick Nandago, said this during an interview with nbc News.

According to Ambassador Nandago, Angola is close to becoming self-sufficient in energy generation and distribution.
