Vice President Lucia Witbooi inspected progress made on the DR3607 Oshakati-Ompundja low-volume seal road Phase One project in the Oshana Region.

Discussions on the Appropriation Bill commenced today, with MPs stating that more should be put towards development projects rather than operational costs, which now exceed N$80 billion, with only N$3,6 billion allocated towards development expenditure.

The National Housing Enterprise (NHE)'s housing project at Chotto Extension 55 and 56 in Katima Mulilo is progressing steadily, with land servicing at about 50 percent complete.
 

The Gibeon Village Council says it is making deliberate efforts to accelerate the much-needed development at the village.

The council has acquired land for various development projects, including town electrification and the construction of a sports facility.

The Okahandja Town Council says several development projects are nearing completion, including a new fire station with a cost of over N$17 million, and they are scheduled to be inaugurated next month.

The Kavango West Regional Council has dispatched a team to visit all council-funded projects across the region to assess their progress.

As the tour kicked off, some projects showed promising progress, with others requiring intervention from regional authorities. 

The Divundu Village Council has completed several development projects, with more expected to be finalised soon. 

These projects are set to bring economic growth and employment.

A delegation led by officials from the Nkurenkuru Town Council and members of the Shack Dwellers Federation visited the Gobabis Municipality to gain exposure to various key development projects.

Several development projects in the ||Kharas Region have been abandoned due to budgetary constraints or legal disputes. 

This came to light during the assessment of the implementation of capital projects in the region by Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila and the regional leadership.
