Authorities in Henties Bay have spoken out against vandalism of road signage, which they say compromises public safety, especially during the busy festive season.

The Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) has launched an investigation into the alleged dumping of dead seals in the desert near Henties Bay.

Videos circulating on social media show what appear to be dead seals dumped in an undesignated area.  

The Municipality of Henties Bay is gaining momentum in its efforts to strengthen food security and promote self-sufficiency in the Erongo Region.

The municipality has allocated five hectares of land for the revival of the Tulongeni Community Garden Initiative. 

The Henties Bay Clinic received two brand new ambulances valued at N$1.6 million from the Langer Heinrich Uranium Mine on Friday. 

The donation is part of the mine's "Heart on Wheels" initiative.

The Henties Bay Municipality has tabled a budget of close to N$233 million for the 2025/26 financial year, focusing on infrastructure development, improved service delivery, and socio-economic upliftment.

The Henties Bay Municipality has provided plots to low-income earners at a price of N$1,600 per plot.

Minister of Urban and Rural Development James Sankwasa commended the municipality on the development and urged other local authorities to follow suit.

Deputy Prime Minister Natangwe Ithete officially launched the construction of the Vigour Bio-technology Production Facility, which will produce high-value seal and nut oil rich in Omega-3 at Henties Bay.

The management of De Duine Hotel in Henties Bay has reversed its decision to implement the new company decisions, which were contained in a leaked letter sent to the hotel's employees a fortnight ago.

The letter seen by nbc News read in part that:

A group of concerned residents in Henties Bay is petitioning for the removal of the town's mayor, Lewies Vermaak, accusing him of defying ministerial directives and obstructing effective governance.
