Swakopmund-based boxer Fillemon Nghutenanye has been honored with the prestigious People's Choice award at the Namibia Annual Sports Awards.

Known for his remarkable skills in the ring, Nghutenanye holds the WBA Africa Flyweight title and has successfully defended it twice.

The MTC Salute Boxing Academy's Salute in Action Boxing Bonanza that took place Saturday night at the Roman Catholic Hall was filled with blood Sweat and tears with the main bout ended in a 4th round.

The MTC Salute Boxing Academy has announced an upcoming WBA Africa title fight under the theme "Salute In Action" that will see its prospect Fillemon Nghutenanye defend his title against South African International Theo Nxayiphi.

Swakopmund-based Fillemon Nghutenanye retained his WBA Pan Africa Flyweight title by flooring Ally Ngwando in the 7th round of their fight this weekend.

Ahead of the fight, 27-year-old  Fillemon Nghutenanye of the MTA Boxing Gym had a record of winning 9 out of his 10 fights, with one draw.
