MVA Fund inaugurates state-of-the-art service centre in Katima Mulilo

The Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund has inaugurated an N$11 million service centre at Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region.

The establishment of the MVA office in the region is aimed at bringing services closer to the people and subsequently preserving and protecting lives on the road.

Road safety campaign launched in Windhoek

The Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund, in collaboration with the National Road Safety Council (NRSC), the Roads Authority (RA), and traffic officers from the Namibian and City Police, launched a week-long road safety campaign in Windhoek.

MVA records 14 fatalities since December

The Motor Vehicle Accident Fund recorded ten fatalities since the 10th of December.

Its Senior Accident and Injury Prevention Officer, Abner Iitumba, is calling on road users to be extra cautious on the road.

Otjozondjupa reports decline in road fatalities

As road carnage continues to claim the lives of Namibians at an alarming rate, Otjozondjupa Region, which is one of the accident-prone hotspot regions, has recorded a decline in fatalities and injuries to date as compared to 2022.

Road fatalities decreased in 2022

Road fatalities decreased by 2.2% last year, as reported in the 2022 Road Crush and Claims Report, which was launched in Windhoek by the Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund.

According to the report, the road fatality rate in 2021 stood at 13.7%, whereas in 2022, it dropped to 11.5%.
