The Namibia Boxing & Wrestling Control Board held its first-ever Boxing Awards ceremony last night at the National Theatre of Namibia. Boxers, promoters, trainers, and media were recognized for their contributions to boxing. The Boxing Control Board was appointed in 2021 by the Minister of Sport, Youth, and National Service to supervise professional boxing activities in the country. The board hosted its first Awards ceremony to honor and recognize the boxing community's commitment and outstanding achievements of the calendar year 2023.

The Namibian national women's hockey captain, Magreth Mengo, made her retirement from the team official upon her return from the FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup.

Magreth Mengo played her final international game in national colors at the FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup, which concluded on the 11th of February in Pretoria, South Africa.

The national women's indoor hockey team put up a face saving display to draw 2-all against Canada in their 2nd game at the Indoor hockey world cup in Tswane, South Africa on Monday.

It was a welcoming result following the team's 5-3 defeat against Kazakstan in their opening match on Sunday. 

The senior hockey men and women's teams are well set and ready for the 2023 FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup taking place from the 5th until the 12th of February in Pretoria, South Africa.
