About 100 streets were renamed in Windhoek, since Independence in 1990. Most of those renamed were streets bearing the names of colonial masters. The naming of streets not only gives direction and easy access to areas but also pays tribute to those who made a difference in their communities and contributed positively to what Namibia is today.
