About 8 000 people with dementia in Namibia are not receiving the appropriate care to maintain a quality life. At a centre outside Swakopmund, only 22 people are receiving specialised care. This is the Alzheimers Dementia Namibia Care Farm just a few kilometres outside Swakopmund. It is the only facility in Namibia specifically taking care of people with Dementia, a terminal brain illness.
