Tomorrow marks Africa Day. The continent will be celebrating the 57th anniversary of the establishment of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU). The organisation was later transformed into the Africa Union (AU) to achieve greater unity, cohesion and solidarity between African countries and nations. This year's anniversary will be held under the theme, 'Health Security in the Context of COVID-19', a disease which caused a sudden and substantial negative impact in all sectors. The celebration is an opportunity to promote African unity, deeper regional integration and recommit Africa to a common destiny. The event will include a special virtual broadcast featuring speeches by prominent speakers and it will bring together the living founding fathers of the OAU. It will be broadcast live on all major broadcasters and digital platforms at 13h00 tomorrow.
