All outstanding government invoices to be settled by end of August

All government invoices amounting to more than N$3 billion will be settled by the end of August President Hage Geingob made the announcement at a media briefing at State House Monday morning. President Geingob pointed out that one key factor fuelling discontent and opinion is the occurrence of unsettled invoices. He said government deeply regrets the accumulation of unsettled invoices that came as a result of weak revenue collection. Geingob said government is aware of the serious impact this has on business operations, particularly on that of small and medium-sized businesses. He said government regret the effects of the economic downturn and empathise with businesses that suffered as a result.
