Alpheus Muheua to be buried at Otjongundu Village

The former Deputy Minister of Labour Alpheus Muheua, will be buried at Otjongundu Village in Daures Constituency, Erongo Region, this Saturday, 26 February. A number of memorial services are lined up with the first to be held at the Holy Rosary Parish Roman Catholic Church in Swakopmund on Wednesday. Another is scheduled to take place at the late Muheua’s residence at Otumue Village in the Daures Constituency. Muheua died at the age of 65 on 16 February at Swakopmund. Muheua was a former president of the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW). He was elected to the National Assembly in the 2009 general election. Former President Hifikepunye Pohamba then appointed Muheua to the position of Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare in his second cabinet. Muheua resigned from government in 2018 due to health reasons. He is survived by his wife and three children.
