Borrowers are yet to take another sigh of relief after the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Namibia (BoN) keeps the repo rate unchanged at 3,75%. The MPC affirms that the rate remains appropriate to continue supporting domestic economic activity while at the same time safeguarding the one-to-one link between the Namibia Dollar and the South African Rand. Making the announcement, Bank of Namibia's Governor Johannes !Gawaxab says the domestic economic activity declined during the first ten months of 2020 and is estimated to register an overall contraction this year before it slowly recovers next year. Inflation remained low during the first 10 months of 2020.
