An investigation was launched into the beating of a child by a man in a video which went viral today. It is alleged that the man, who uses a belt to beat the child, is in a relationship with the boy's aunt. Deputy Commissioner and Head of Communication at Namibian Police, Kauna Shikwambi says that the Gender-Based Violence Unit in Windhoek has launched an investigating of child abuse into the matter. "The case was attended to by the investigators. The child was taken to the hospital for medical checks, removed from the guardian's house and taken into safe custody," said Shikwambi.
