Namibia's ranking as being among the top 19 unequal countries in the world, is worrisome as all efforts to close the wealth gap seem not to have yielded any results. Churches and civil organisations, at a meeting organised by the ELCRN church at Keetmanshoop, therefore believe the responsibility should not be left to the government alone, but they too must play a role in ensuring economic equality as guaranteed in the Namibian Constitution.
