NamPower and City of Windhoek have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and transfer agreement on the electrification of the city's peri-urban areas. NamPower has committed to contribute to the improvement of the lives of communities living in those areas providing electricity to 1 000 households. The project will be funded by NamPower to the value of N$15 million. The areas that will benefit are Babylon with 100 households, Havana Extension 1, 200 households, Havana Extension 3, 100 households, Okahandja Park, 100 households, One Nation, 100 households, Ongulumbashe, 100 households and Otjomuise Extension 6 and 7 with 200 households. The commissioning of the electrification project will be by the end of August if no delays are experienced during the COVID-19 transition stages.
