COVID-19 UPDATE| Public gatherings decrease from 500 to 200

NEWS JUST IN| President Hage Geingob has announced new measures effective from 15 December 2021 to 15 January 2022. Public gatherings have been decreased from 500 to 200 including burials and sports events. Sales of alcohol remain unchanged but can be revisited if the situation does not improve. The president encouraged the correct wearing of masks and for public operators to assist in implementing these measures. Dr Geingob also urged Namibians to avoid unnecessary travelling. He emphasised that the COVID-19 vaccine remains voluntary, but individual responsibility is paramount.
