As Padel, also known as Padel Tennis, gains popularity in Namibia, the MTC Dome in Swakopmund recently inaugurated Namibia's first premier indoor Padel court.

The first Padel courts in the country were constructed in Windhoek, featuring four courts where the first games took place last weekend.

Padel is a mix of tennis and squash and is usually played in doubles on an enclosed court surrounded by glass walls and metallic mesh.

The court is one-third the size of a tennis court, making it a sport that combines action, fun, and social interaction.

It's great for players of all ages and skill levels, as it is both quick and easy to pick up.

Padel isn't dominated by strength, technique, or serve as it is in tennis, making it an ideal game for men, women, and youth to compete together.

An essential skill in Padel is match-craft, as points are won through strategy rather than sheer strength and power.

The game is quick and easy to learn, making it a fun and addictive sport to play.

Padel Namibia aims to install additional courts in other towns like Walvis Bay and Lüderitz.
