President Hage Geingob said public gatherings remain unchanged at 200 including burials and sports events. Educational institutions are now allowed to operate at full capacity, however, schools that are not equipped to work at full capacity should make their own internal arrangements. The sale of alcohol remains unchanged and business owners are urged to comply with COVID-19 protocols. President Geingob also noted the importance of Namibians getting vaccinated. Fully vaccinated, permanent residents and truck drivers will no longer be required to present negative PCR test results. Those unvaccinated are required to present a 72 hours PCR negative result test. The new health measures will be in force from 15 January to 15 February 2022. The president said this during the 39th COVID-19 briefing at State House today.
