The Chairperson of the Omaheke Regional Council, Rocco Nguvauva, said his office will prioritise community empowerment through income-generating projects.

Nguvauva made the remarks during the handing over of income-generating project donations at Du Plessis Plaas in the Okorukambe Constituency.

Valued at N$500,000, the donated items include a water tank, water pipes, wires, cement and generators.

Nguvauva implored the beneficiaries to take care of the donated items and to create job opportunities for others.

"We want to adhere to the call of the president that we should start having backyard gardens. That's why you can even see that the pipes that are there are to encourage them to start gardens and to have something at their houses.'

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and happiness for the donation.
