Okorukambe Councillor calls for improvement of traditional authorities' monthly allowances

Okorukambe Constituency Councillor Rocco Nguvauva has called for the improvement of the monthly allowances of traditional authorities for them to function optimally.

The Okorukambe Councillors want most of the administrative matters to be carried out by their traditional authorities themselves rather than relying on the government.

Speaking in the National Council before the recess, Nguvauva argues that community leaders are playing an important role in assisting the government in a number of areas.

Forty-six stateless individuals in Omitara Settlement receive national documents

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security has registered 46 stateless Namibian nationals at the Omitara settlement in the Omaheke Region.

Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security Minister Dr Albert Kawana said at the handing over of the identification documents that the ministry strives to serve as many people as possible and that being stateless prevents people from accessing much-needed services.

Roads Authority completes upgrade of Du Plessis Farm-Epukiro RC Road

The Constituency Councillor of Okorukambe in the Omaheke Region, Rocco Nguvauva, is pleased with the progress made by the government, through the Roads Authority, in completing upgrades to the Du Plessis Farm-Epukiro RC Road, to low volume seal standard.

Nguvauva says this is testimony to the sincerity of the government's promised development in the region. 

He says discussions are further underway to extend the road, by another 10km from Epukiro RC to Epukiro pos 3.
