Decomposed body found at Omako cattle post in the Okahao Constituency

The Omusati Police are appealing to members of the public, including cattle post owners, at Omako in the Okahao Constituency, to assist in identifying the decomposed human remains discovered there. A cattle herder who was in the area made the gruesome discovery in the bushes during his search for his lost cattle on Sunday. Preliminary assessments indicate that the cattle post might have been abandoned for two years or so. It is not yet clear whether the deceased person was residing at that cattle post or was on his way somewhere else. Investigators who were at the scene managed to recover a skull and some bones. No documents were found on the remains but some items such as clothing, a blanket and running shoes were found on the scene. The remains were transported to Okahao Police Mortuary pending a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and further investigations. Anyone with a missing relative or information that can lead to the positive identification of the deceased should contact the Omusati Police.
