Education Ministry to determine whether schools in all 14 regions are ready to start face-to-face learning

The Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture is undergoing an online School's Preparedness and Readiness Assessment Survey to assess whether schools in all 14 regions are ready to start face-to-face learning for Grades 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10. The survey, which is being done in consultation with Namibia National Teachers Union (NANTU) regional leadership, will assess the school's preparedness, readiness, compliance and challenges to receiving learners amidst COVID-19. The ministry will then upon receiving the reports, together with NANTU, analyse and determine whether schools will reopen on 3 August as planned and inform the public on this decision by this Friday 31 July. Education Minister Anna Nghipondoka therefore called on learners and parents to remain calm as the ministry is committed to ensuring a safe learning environment.
