Government's first attempt at auctioning off fishing quotas did not yield the desired outcome, a move that has received public criticism. The Government projected revenue of N$628 million from the bidding but only managed to secure N$8,4 million. Finance Minister Iipumbu Shiimi says he takes full responsibility for the failure.
