The N$10 billion deals linked to the Fishrot scandal were flagged after the Financial Intelligence Centre looked into over one-million bank transactions. Bank of Namibia Governor and Chairperson of the Anti-Money Laundering Council, Johannes !Gawaxab, says it is now up to law-enforcement agencies to verify those amounts.
