A four-year-old girl died on Sunday after she was run over by a vehicle at around 18h20 at the Havana informal settlement in Windhoek. Anna Panduleni Nghipuka was allegedly walking along a gravel road between shacks when a Toyota Vios dumped and killed her instantly. Namibian Police (NamPol)'s spokesperson, Deputy-Commissioner, Kauna Shikwambi, informed the media in a statement issued on Monday that a 53-year-old man was arrested and charged with culpable homicide, drunken, reckless and or negligent driving. "The driver lost control over the vehicle and drove into a shack, destroying it. Fortunately, nobody was injured inside the shack," she added. The deceased's next of kin were informed of her death. Police investigations continue.
