Government has approved a 15% bus and taxi fare increase to be valid during the COVID-19 state of emergency or until full loading is permitted. In a media statement, the Ministry of Works and Transport announced that the decision was taken to mitigate the impact the regulations have on operators that can only fill cars half of its loading capacity. The Road Transportation Board of Namibia has warned those public transport operators who implemented unauthorised price increases that legal steps will be taken against offenders.
