Governor of Kavango East, Bonifatius Wakudumo has reversed his decision to appoint Charlie Min Xie on his Advisory Committee, with immediate effect. This was revealed in a media statement from the Governor Monday evening. "I have decided to rescind my decision to appoint Mr Charlie Min Xie," said the Governor in his statement. Intense social media criticism followed the revelation of the decision to appoint the former Chinese national late last week. Wakudumo also apologised the Namibian public in general and Kavango East residents for any confusion his action might have caused. The Governor also noted that the initial idea of compiling the development profile of Kavango East and its subsequent implementation shall continue. Further adding that he shall continue with the wide extensive consultation process by engaging the necessary authorities and stakeholders. He further called on Kavango East residents to be united and rally behind the development and all efforts aimed at improving their livelihood.
