High Court Judge, Orben Sibeya has awarded N$250 000 in favour of First Lady Monica Geingos in her defamation lawsuit against teacher and politician, Abed 'Bishop' Hishoono. Hishoono made a video recording in which he accused Geingos of corruptly planning the collapse of Air Namibia to protect her supposed interests in Westair Aviation. He further alleged that Geingos has a son with James Hatuikulipi, whom he alleged to have arranged her marriage with the Head of State. Hishoono's plea for the court's leniency and mercy was unsuccessful. The judge said reputational damage is difficult to enumerate. Sisa Namandje, representing Geingos, pressed on ahead with the plea to have Hishoono pay the hefty N$350 000 to serve as a lesson. Hishoono represented himself.
