Influx of people to Otjiwarongo puts basic services under pressure

The influx of people to Otjiwarongo is putting pressure on demands for basic services, including housing. The Otjiwarongo Municipality says despite efforts to reduce the backlog, housing delivery to its residents remains a challenge. The town's mayor, Gotlieb Candy Shivute says the council has now introduced the Accelerated Land Delivery Programme to make thousands of plots available at its informal settlement.
