Independent Patriots for Change's (IPC) Trevino Forbes has been elected Mayor of Walvis Bay while Saara Mutondoka was elected as Deputy Mayor and Leroy Victor, both also from IPC, has been elected Chairperson of the Management Committee. Olivia Andrews, another IPC Councillor and Roland Noel Bramwell from the Joint Walvis Bay Residents Association (JWBRA) made it as members of the Management Committee. Popular Democratic Movement's (PDM) Richard Hoaeb was elected as an additional member while Stanily Bikeur from the Landless People's Movement is an alternate member. All three SWAPO Councillors, Paulus Kauhondwamwa, Ephraim Shozi and Albertina Nkoshi were sworn in as ordinary members. This is the first time since 1994 when Walvis Bay was reintegrated into Namibia, that SWAPO lost the majority seats in the local authority.
