Ireland sends congratulatory message to President Geingob on his re-election

Ireland has sent a congratulatory message to President Hage Geingob on his re-election. In a letter to President Geingob the country's President Michael Higgins says, the renewed leadership comes a crucial time, as countries, including Namibia, confront the threat of COVID-19, which had paralysed the economies of many nations. The Irish leader says coordinated global response to COVID-19 is required, particularly if the needs of African countries are to be met. Namibia and Ireland have since build those bonds, which had resulted in the launch of scholarships, which enables Namibians to undertake master studies in Ireland. Last year, the country launched its strategy called, Ireland's Strategy for Africa to 2025.
