A 25-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at Keetmanshoop in the //Kharas Region on Friday. A crime report issued by the Namibian Police on Sunday said the deceased was identified as Alberts Hendricks. The incident occurred in the TransNamib residential area. “Hendricks allegedly argued with his landlord and locked himself in the room of his brother. Around 21h20 the landlord used a spare key to open the room because the deceased had not been seen since 10h00, only to discover that he was hanging from the roof,” said the report. No foul play is suspected and Hendricks’ next of kin have been informed of his death. Meanwhile, the police at Rosh Pinah are investigating a case of robbery after four unknown men allegedly robbed the Scorpion Mini Market of about N$100 000 in cash on Saturday. It is alleged that four male suspects entered the shop 21h15 and threatened four women who were working in the shop with knives. They took their cellphones, a 40-inch flat screen televisioin, a laptop and DStv decoder in addition to the cash. The suspects also took the key of a Toyota Hilux pick-up and the master keys of a Honda truck, which they stole and abandoned 20 kilometres outside the mining town on the Rosh Pinah-Aus road. No arrests have been made in connection with the matter and police investigations continue. -NAMPA
