Police in the Ohangwena Region are investigating a case of culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving after a man died in a car crash at Onanhadi village in the Endola Constituency late last night. It is alleged that a Land Rover and a Toyota bakkie, travelling from opposite directions on the Okatana-Onhuno tarred road, collided head-on. The driver of the bakkie died instantly from the impact of the crash while the rest of the passengers from both vehicles escaped with minor to serious injuries. Deputy Commissioner Zachariah Amakali of Ohangwena Police said this is one of the few accidents reported during the state of emergency and appealed to motorists to be vigilant and continue to adhere to traffic rules. The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Cornelius Shikongo and his next of kin have already been informed.
