Cabinet has instructed the Information and Communication Technology Ministry to sensitise relevant stakeholders on the dotAfrica domain. With the introduction of the dotAfrica domain, the African Union which is the highest continental body, aims to join the digital era. Tweya said by acquiring the dotAfrica domain, organisations, businesses and individuals will be part of an online communication platform on continental level. The Cabinet instruction aims to sensitise relevant stakeholders whose input will be valuable in attaining such an objective. Some of the benefits of a dotAfrica domain include showcasing a brand and it's commitment to the African continent, establishing a home for Africa-specific products and services, as well as expanding regional influence. Organisations that get this domain will also acquire valuable online real-estate in a fast-growing and high-potential market.
