The Speaker of the National Assembly Professor Peter Katjavivi has tested positive for COVID-19. Katjavivi according to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer David Nahogandja tested positive for the disease yesterday evening. Nahogandja says the speaker is in good spirit and under self-isolation. Meanwhile, the sitting of the National Assembly for this week has been suspended and the house is expected to resume next week Tuesday. The suspension is moved due to the increasing number of both staff and MPs who tested positive to COVID-19 as well as to provide ample time for fumigation of the parliament building.
