The Minister of Public Enterprises has cleared Namib Desert Diamonds (NAMDIA) of corruption allegations which include the under-selling of diamonds. Allegations of deliberate selling of diamonds below their value to foreign-based companies rocked NAMDIA in 2017, which was accused of selling a carat for as little as N$7 000 at the time.
